From the board room to the shop floor
So, what’s the best way to engender Transformation and Continuous Improvement? Is it to have a few ‘experts’ – business improvement managers, change managers, consultants and so on – or to provide a wider skill base that will better harness the skill pool?
Classic workforce development programmes suggest a ‘bottom up’ approach, but as with a ‘top down’ approach, it alone cannot hope to be sustainable.
In contrast, Keizai’s approach is holistic – we use a multi-layered development of staff to create a ground swell of knowledge, skills and passion, whilst managers and executives are shown how to guide, promote and harness the desire to change.
Many managers understand the need for continuous improvement but are unsure how to implement or foster that improvement. We encourage the development of these skills by inviting managers and executives to spend time at a range of companies where they can take part in Continuous Improvement activities and experience first hand the role of the champion in a different and benign environment. |
